The first graders put on a Mother's Day Tea Party this afternoon...each student in Hayden's class read to us a poem they had chosen, copied, and drawn a picture for. Hayden's was:

MY PUPPY LOVES FLOWERS (by Bruce Lansky)

My puppy's in the garden.

He loves to smell the flowers.

To help them grow, my puppy always

sprinkles them with showers.

Lovely, right? And of course he drew a fine piece of art to go with it...complete with flowers, puppy, the puppy's showers, etc. :)

Then we got to open our presents...he made me a necklace (you can see in the pic) and a booklet with another, much longer, poem (about baby animals and their moms, and how his mom is the best of all - very cute!) with colored pictures and stickers. Ended with punch, cake, and cookies. What a great day!
