We spent Stephen's birthday in California - and we went to the beach! Now that's definitely something we couldn't have done here at home. :) Problem was, when we were packing for our trip, swimsuits didn't really cross our minds...but that hold the boys back one bit!
At first, they tried rolling up their pants and just splashing around with their feet a bit, but that only lasted so long...
And yes, that's a surfer in the background. The boys were pretty intrigued...
...so of course Stephen tried the next best thing - body surfing!
And check out the sunset - it was perfect!!!
Back at my parents' house, Stephen wanted sushi for his birthday dinner..and Hayden for the first time decided he likes it too! Hayden still had trouble with the chopsticks though.
And cake and presents - hooray!
Stephen asked for a cake with powdered sugar on it instead of frosting...and you can see the powdered sugar being blown off when he blew out the candles. It was pretty funny!

I still to this day won't eat sushi. It doesn't appeal to me at all. Way to go Stephen and Hayden!
